Hello Sumi,
Wow! I thought you are still in Austin. Already start teaching!!! Hope you are over jetlag and everything. Also Glad to know you were able to spent some quality time with your family. Envy you ^^ I am still stucked with my proposal, but so relieved to finally see some light toward the end of the tunnel ^^ About your students' concern about their English and time. I really want to let them know their English must be better or as good as those Taiwanese students who exchange blogs with Anderson High Kids during Spring. Please encourage them to be confident in their English. Even though English is one of the main component of this exchange, it is not everything. American students are more interested in Korean culture and how their Korean peers perview the same issues, like school, friends or pop culture. Plus, their English will have a lot better chance to get even better after they start exchanging ideas in English with American students here.
About the time they might soent on this project, they are only required to post 9 articles during the whole project plus responding to their pals blogs. Each post/comment doesn't have to be long, just enough content to get their ideas crossed. It is going to be a fun project. Based on my understanding of Korean High school students, I am very sure they all have the ability to exchange ideas in English with their American peers. They have to believe in themselves before any good things can happen ^^ Take care!
Regards,
Dorothy
